Program Overview:

​What is Michlelet Chana?​
​​ Michlelet Chana is a Chabad post-seminary academy established in 2018. It offers higher education in Torah studies, with classes on Chassidus, Halacha, and Jewish home studies, paired with teacher training and vocational development.
​What kind of programs do we offer?
 The institution provides:
  • Kodesh Learning: An intensive program emphasizing spiritual growth and personal development.
  • Early Childhood Teacher Training: Practical Chinuch skills grounded in warmth, clarity, and Chassidishe values.
  • ​Vocational Courses: Training in fields such as Makeup Artistry, Sheitel and Hair Styling, Graphic Design, Culinary Arts, and Interior Design.
​What are my options for learning in Michlelet Chana?
  • Full-Time: Requires a minimum of 12 hours of learning per week; students are eligible for an F1-Student visa.
  • ​Part-Time: Requires a minimum of 4 hours per week; not eligible for an F1-Student visa.

Financial Information:

What is the tuition fee?​
 The tuition fee is $6,000. This does not include accommodation and meals.
How much are accommodations and meals?
 We offer affordable housing for $550/girl for a shared room. You can receive suppers every night for an extra $120/month.
Are there scholarships available?
 Limited scholarships are available. Applicants can make tuition arrangements with the office and inquire about financial aid during the admissions process.
Are students allowed to work while studying?
 Students on an F1-Student visa can start part-time employment after 12 months of studies. It's advisable to consult with the admissions office for specific guidelines regarding work opportunities.

International Students

Can non-American citizens apply?
 Yes, international students can apply. Full-time students are eligible for an F1-Student visa, allowing them to study in the U.S.
Where are the students from? ​
Our students come from around the world. We have students from Argentina, Brazil, Canada, France, England, Israel, and more.
What is the visa process?
After acceptance, full-time students will receive the necessary documentation to apply for an F1 student visa. The application process must take place in the student’s country of residence. The visa allows students to reside in the U.S. for the duration of their studies.

Campus Life

Where is Michlelet Chana located?
 The program is in our building at 556 Crown Street, on the corner of Albany Ave. in Crown Heights, Brooklyn, New York, providing a Chassidic environment conducive to learning and personal growth. ​
What accommodations are provided?
Students have access to on-campus housing, including a dorm option. Meals are provided, and the campus includes facilities such as shuls, a library, and spaces for farbrengens and other communal activities. ​
Is there support for students without local family?
Yes, the program offers a supportive community with mentors and staff available to assist students, especially those without local family connections. This includes guidance for Shabbos and Yom Tov meal arrangements. ​

Admissions Criteria

What is the minimum age requirement?
 Applicants should be at least 18 years old. However, exceptions can be made based on individual circumstances. It's recommended to discuss specific cases with the admissions office.
Can mothers or older women apply?
 Michlelet Chana primarily caters to post-seminary young women. For specific inquiries about age eligibility, please contact the admissions office directly.
What is the application process?
  1. Fill out the online application.
  2. ​Email a recent photo to [email protected].
  3. Pay the $100 registration fee via PayPal or credit card.
  4. Interview with Mrs. Holzman in NY, either in person or via WhatsApp.
  5. Receive an acceptance letter (up to 3 weeks after applying).
  6. Make tuition arrangements with the office.
